The striker joined the Gunners after leaving Sporting Lisbon during the offseason

Arsenal forward Viktor Gyokeres was left out from the new manager's maiden Sweden team selection, whereas Reds striker Alexander Isak secured selection

Gyokeres is due for further assessments this week following fears he sustained a muscle problem during the Gunners's Premier League win at the Clarets last weekend

Gyokeres sat out Arsenal' Champions League success versus Slavia Prague earlier this week

Isak Makes Comeback

Isak, who has been sidelined from late October because of a groin injury, has been chosen to play in the World Cup games versus Switzerland (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)

Other England-based Inclusions

  • Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, working his way back from concussion
  • Newcastle winger the Swedish international

Both athletes feature in the Premier League players named under ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham coach Graham Potter

The New Manager's Role

Potter took over the Swedish federation originally temporarily in late October, under a month following leaving by the Hammers

Previous manager the Danish coach was fired following the national team's setback against Kosovo on 13 October, a result which rendered automatic qualification from their World Cup group unattainable

Present Position

Sweden find themselves last place of Group B with only a single point from four matches

Even if they don't manage to finish second, there remains a chance they might participate in the qualification playoffs as a result thanks to their showing during the previous Nations League
