Salah Extends Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Says Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team after the controversy from his public comments.

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

Team Form

The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were never meant to cause disruption.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
