Britain's Fabio Wardley is set to be promoted to world boxing champion after Usyk chose to vacate his world title
This situation arises after the champion told boxing authorities he would not proceed with a mandatory title defence against the British challenger
The boxing organization confirmed that Usyk had "elected to relinquish his title after thoughtful consideration"
The Ukrainian maintains the multiple world titles, having beaten his British opponent at the famous London venue in mid-year to become a repeat unified title holder
He initially achieved the all-belt title holder in last year by beating Tyson Fury, before relinquishing one championship five weeks later and choosing to avoid the obligatory contender
"Organization head Olivieri described Usyk as exceptional in a statement"
"The WBO extends its profound respect, admiration and gratitude to Usyk, an undefeated, two-division WBO undisputed world champion"
"His record represents one of the most extraordinary and historic of the recent fighting history"
The boxing body stated that its institution will continue to support the fighter and his management"
Usyk won the WBO belt in two years ago by defeating Anthony Joshua and went on to defend it four times
In summer, the boxing organization mandated talks for a required title defense against temporary title holder Parker, only for a Usyk's physical issue to force the postponement of the fight
But the 30-year-old British fighter, won the provisional belt from Parker with a huge upset in the later stages at the famous London arena in the previous month and was mandated to face Usyk before the September deadline
The boxing organization hasn't formally announced Wardley's promotion but his manager Warren believes it is a done deal
"Britain has a fresh boxing champion and a new star of the sport"
"A truly extraordinary path throughout my decades as a sports manager and I could not be happier for the British fighter"
"Significant bouts in the future for the coming period as he maintains his title and creates a true legacy in the boxing world"
Wardley only began boxing at twenty years old, developing through alternative boxing and has had a limited professional record
